Xét về yếu tố sinh học, đàn ông có nhiều hormone testosrerone hơn là phụ nữ
= Biological factor: Men have an abundance of testosterone (the hormone that influences competitiveness and overall health of men)
- Từ đây đưa đến kết quả rằng đàn ông sẽ mạnh mẽ, cạnh tranh cao hơn phụ nữ
= Result: Men are hunters, women are maintainers of the household
- Hơn nữa, việc có tính cạnh tranh là một đặc điểm tốt đối với đàn ông, đặc biệt dành cho các công việc nặng nhọc và đòi hỏi tính cạnh tranh cao
= Being competitive is a helpful trait for hunting, as it is likely that the ancient hunter would run into rival hunters

- Đưa ra ví dụ về việc tính cạnh tranh này không chỉ có ở con người, mà còn có ở các loài động vật nữa (ví dụ như ếch, ve sầu,..)

It is a given that biological differences exist between men and women. This, according to some, even extends to making men naturally the more competitive sex. Facing this point of view, I am inclined to agree for several reasons.
Initially, it would be remiss not to mention hormonal factors that contribute to this distinction. Testosterone, the hormone that influences aggressiveness and competitiveness, is much more prevalent in men than in women. This abundance of testosterone, during prehistoric times, made men more suited for hunting than it made women, who typically maintained the household. Men’s competitive spirit would evolve as a helpful trait to ensure a successful hunt since in their quest, the ancient hunter would likely run into rivals. In that case, being competitive could reward the hunter with the most spoils for himself. The more successful the hunter is, the more well-fed his family would be, highlighting the point that men needed competitiveness for the sake of preserving their household.
Furthermore, men also tend to be more competitive than women because they are biologically programmed to vie for women’s attention and, by extension, opportunities to mate and pass on their genes. This behavior is not exclusive to humans, for, in the animal kingdom, male frogs croak, and male cicadas chirp to attract their female counterparts. Meanwhile, in a tale from ancient Vietnamese mythology, Mountain God and Water God, two potential suitors for the King’s daughter, became rivals over a test of whimsical dowry and gifts, with Mountain God taking the princess’s hand in the end. This type of story with the sexes reversed is hardly seen elsewhere in Vietnamese folklore, proving that people of antiquity were also extremely cognizant of men’s competitive nature.
In conclusion, the assumption that men are naturally more competitive than women is backed by biological and historical bases. Hence, I would wholeheartedly agree with such a notion.

MỘT SỐ LƯU Ý KHÁC KHI VIẾT BÀI
Với chủ đề về xã hội học, đặc biệt là liên quan đến tính cạnh tranh của nam giới và nữ giới, câu trả lời của các thí sinh thường sẽ theo 2 hướng:
- Strong opinion
- Nam giới mạnh mẽ, cạnh tranh hơn nữ giới (đây là quan điểm khá phổ biến từ trước đến này). Với bố cục bài viết này thì HS sẽ cần 2 lý do lớn để chứng minh cho quan điểm này.
- Nữ giới mạnh mẽ hơn nam giới (chắc chắn đây sẽ là quan điểm khá gây nhiều tranh cãi) → Với quan điểm này yêu cầu người viết cần suy nghĩ đa chiều và đưa ra được các lập luận phải rất thuyết phục và có lẽ cần cân nhắc kĩ khi xây dựng bài viết theo hướng này → Với áp lực về thời gian, có lẽ không nên suy nghĩ theo hướng trên.
2. Balanced opinion
- Nam giới và nữ giới đều có tính cạnh tranh như nhau trong thời đại mới khi có bình đẳng về giới. Với luồng quan điểm này, HS luôn nên đưa ra so sánh về tình hình trong quá khứ ra sao

In the past, women were not permitted to attend classes, nor enter fields that had always been male dominated Men died from the two world wars → Women had to stand up and fulfill the tasks of men → become the main workforce. Result: Nowadays women have a full-time job, become more independent + can have high position in a company/society For example: the president of Germany has been Angela Merel for the past 15 years. Restate: This shows that women have the competency to be competitive given the chance to shine. |
